I bet he ends up a laker on a one year deal My thoughts exactly. He should go to GSW and get a ring lol. But he'll finally get to play with LeBron so it's almost a given. Doesn't he still have to clear waivers if bought out I could see them claiming him. Hard to see trading for him when you can wait and get him at a discount.

Doesn't he still have to clear waivers if bought out I could see them claiming him. Hard to see trading for him when you can wait and get him at a discount. Heard a story the other day that the plan all along was for LBJ, Melo, and Wade to form a super-team in Miami when their contracts were up, but Melo jumped ship and signed the extension in Denver, avoiding the need to take a pay-cut in Miami. This left LBJ and Wade reeling to find someone to fill that gap and landed on Bosh. LBJ and Melo have been at odds ever since. Melo traded rings for cash, which sounds like the most Melo thing ever. And he's totally screwing over OKC and has been very public about it.

The only problem is I think LA is capped out after signing the suicide squad Maybe they find a taker for Dengs insane contract According to Wojnarowski and Young, the Rockets, Heat, and Lakers are among the teams expected to express interest in Anthony. Word of Houston’s interest was first tweeted by Marc Stein of The New York Times.
The Rockets have their $5.337MM taxpayer mid-level exception available and pursued Anthony last summer. Heading to Houston would allow Anthony to compete for a title and join old friend Chris Paul.
Anthony could also team up with a close friend in Los Angeles, with LeBron James poised to sign with the Lakers. L.A. still has about $5.6MM in cap room available, so the club would be able to offer Carmelo more than the minimum.
As for the Heat, they haven’t used any of their mid-level exception, so they’d be able to go up to $5.337MM, or perhaps even higher if they’re willing to hard-cap themselves. They might not be as close to title contention as the Rockets or Lakers, but the Heat could have a clearer path to a deep playoff run than L.A. at least, given how much more competitive the West will be.

Was hoping to sign him on the low end.

This Zach Lavine offer sheet is everything wrong with the current salary structure of the league. Not saying he couldn’t still be a good player but he isn’t worth 20 million per year.

Tough situation for the Bulls. Match it and he needs to improve a lot (which isn't impossible, but still...) or let him walk and you lose a big component of the Butler trade.

As a Spurs fan I'm dead inside
What happens from here doesn't even matter to me at all. Pop retires at the end of next season--heck, maybe mid-season. Manu plays another meaningless season of beautiful, bald-headed basketball. RC Buford will finally turn in his block cellphone and beeper that he's used since 97. Kawhi will be playing for the Knicks. Pau Gasol, 5 years from now, will still be a wide open gate trying to act like he's defending the pick and roll. LaMarcus Aldridge will continue to miss fadeaway jumpers while running back slapping his wrist and asking the ref to call a foul. Tim Duncan will still be swimming when the Admiral tries to convince him to do one last Edge shaving cream commercial together. And we'll still wonder what happened between Tony Parker, Eva Longoria, and Brent Barry's wife.

Spears of The Undefeated that he received offers from the Spurs and Nuggets before deciding on Charlotte. I’d imagine those other offers didn’t come with the guarantee of as much money and/or as significant a role.

The Dallas Mavericks believe they got the best player in the draft by trading up to select Slovenian swingman Luka Doncic with the third overall pick.
"He was the top player on our board," Mavs owner Mark Cuban told ESPN. "It wasn't even close."

Cuban also noted that the Mavericks explored the possibility of adding DeMarcus Cousins, but felt like Jordan gave the club a better chance to “win now” than a player coming off an Achilles tear.
“You don’t want to put somebody in a position where they have to rush back, and the Warriors obviously don’t have to deal with that,” Cuban said. “I was happy for him. A lot of people talk trash about [Cousins], but we thought he would have been great. But I wanted to win now, and that’s what I told his guys.”

Boohoo you've seen trophies, I don't know when I'll ever see one and either way it will never be with the Rose-Noah-Taj group so it doesn't really matter anyways.

I can't see the Lakers having interest in melo unless they traded both kuz and Ingram for kawhi which is doubtful. Where does melo play and fit on this team? He just doesn't.
For the record though the problem in OKC last year, besides Captain hero ball, was the loss of Robinson. Their 5 with him and melo was like leading the league with +14 or something like that.
But anyways, he'll end up as Trevor ariza replacement in Houston if he's smart which considering they have a beast to man the paint and block shots will make Houston way better because ariza was pretty bad especially offensive. Turrbull
Personally I go back to my original statement on the Spurs:
It's over, blow it up. ALL the way up!!!
Trade kawhi for Ingram so you KNOW factually you have a star in the making to build with. Let slomo walk. Trade LA and Pau for any young guys and picks you can get (hi Philly!) and start over.
The way the organization functions, they'll be back competing in 3 years just in time for the collapse of the warriors, rockets and Lakers due to age.
It's the only way. 5 titles and multiple HOF guys is nothing to sneeze at. Had a legendary run now it's time to prepare for the next one butt it ain't helping now. They have NO way of becoming a contender even with kawhi.
Move on...

But MY Manu is really pushing for my #3 sg of all time and maybe even #2. The moniker "the Michael Jordan of South America" wasn't just gloss with him. It was a real statement. 4 championships and an Olympic gold over a dream team. And he sacrificed his whole career and put the team first by coming off the bench.
Definitely hearing arguments for #2 behind that Michael Jeffery guy and the best part is unless you're including the big o in your top 5 (I can't I didn't see him and don't know how how game would translate through the generations) you saw Manu defeat and school everyone else (Kobe, Wade, harden hon mention to Reggie Miller)

Pelicans let go of Cousins and Rondo and replaced them with Julius Randle and Elfrid Payton.
That doesn't feel like an upgrade.

It’s not but Davis I think I read Davis was pushing for randle so keeping him happy is key. If randle can become a nice side kick for Davis and who know maybe Payton reaches his potential the pelicans could be better off in the long run.

NEPOTISM
Juwan Howard Jr. is playing for the Knicks in Summer League and hopes to get an invite to join the Westchester Knicks, New York’s G League affiliate. Fizdale, of course, has a good relationship with Howard’s father from their days in Miami.
